“The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek. ” – Joseph Campbell
The longest show cave of Britain, White Scar Cave is located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park along the B6255 road, about 1 mile from Ingleton. Filled with geological unconformity, these limestone caves have been open for public viewing since the 1920s. Discovered over a 100 years ago by a Cambridge student – Christopher Long, who noticed a fissure in the ground which is actually a massive waterfall located inside the cave – first feature that you’ll encounter when you enter the cave.
