Spring is definitely in the air! After the heavy snow in January and the freeze for much of February, this last week has seen the sun come out and the temperatures rise. And with the end of coronavirus lockdowns now hopefully in sight, things are finally looking up!

With travel restrictions still currently in place though, trying to find new places to go locally is becoming more challenging by the day!

I’m lucky enough to have good views from my house, and so on some of the longer lockdown-days, I’ve taken to looking out and trying to spot places to explore.

One such place is Rawdon Billing, or Billing Hill as it’s also known. Rising high above the village of Rawdon in North Leeds, it’s a fairly short and easy walk, but rewards you with incredible 360° views of Leeds City Centre to the East, Bradford to the West, and looking over Guiseley and Menston all the way to Ilkley Moor and the Yorkshire Dales to the North.

The walk starts from a public footpath on Layton Avenue, opposite Jubilee Hall…
